This is a drawing of the Jatiyo Sriti soudho (National Memorial Statue) at Savar in the capital city Dhaka. This is a statue of recognition for the martyrs who paid tribute to the Bangladeshi Liberation War. The plans for this monument were initiated right after the independence in 1972. Syed Mainol Hossain was the chosen designer out of the 57 contestants who took place in the structural competition of this statue. He started the construction in 1978 and completed it in 1982. Millions of Bangladeshi citizens celebrate this anniversary every year.
